Each Daisyware lunch plate is slab built from translucent porcelain. I stamp the surface of each plate with various sizes of daisy stamps with the intention of filling the flowers with different colors of glaze once bisque fired. To create the desired effect, I flood each daisy with a variety of rainbow colored celadon glazes. The rim of the plate is hand carved with a classic fluting design, and finished in a contrasting color. I love the endless possibilities of color combos!
The bottom of each plate is sanded to a buttery smooth texture, and sealed with liquid quartz to protect the surface from absorbing stains or food debris. Please refer to last pic in listing for what this looks like on the surface of the plate. You will be able to see how liquid beads up instead of soaking in to the surface. The liquid quartz is food safe, and also dishwasher and microwave safe. Although handwashing with gentle detergent is what I would recommend.
