Each Daisyware vessel is slab built from colored porcelain that I mix in small batches in my studio. I stamp the surface of each slab with various sizes of daisy stamps, with the intention of filling the flowers with different colors of glaze once bisque fired. To create the desired effect, I flood each daisy with either a celadon glaze or velvet underglaze. The interior and handle of each mug are finished in a contrasting color. I love the endless possibilities of color combos!
The bottom of each mug is sanded to a buttery smooth texture that you will most definitely want to touch. Each piece is finished with a burnishing of neutral oil which provides a subtle sheen and highlights the texture. The exterior is then sprayed with Liquid Quartz to seal then surface.
